An energetic, passionate, caring facilitator

Andy has mastered the skill of time management. He is a natural leader and can engage any class whilst entertaining them, this proves his ability to work cohesively with any age group. He's highly creative, and an out of the box thinker, especially when it comes to planning an innovative and interesting way to teach people. You always put 100% of your energy, passion, and creativity into your projects, and make sure you see them to the end. For example, starting and running the first philosophy club at our school. You found a way to intrigue students of all different mindsets into coming to philosophy club. You created entertaining sessions and asked questions that were not only interesting but useful to ask and captured each student's mind. You make questioning life and reality entertaining. You also challenged yourself by joining the dance club, then took it into your own hands to keep it alive by supervising the club, even if you aren't the strongest dancer. Though dance club is unlike philosophy club, your drive to provide a safe place where people can explore and learn new things is unmatched by anyone I've met. Also, you have a bubbly, "happy‐go‐lucky" vibe about you, which attracts new people, even the most unexpected people, to want to learn from you.

Philosophy is a source of joy

Philosophy brings a constant stream of new discoveries and wonder. The delight of discovering new ideas with others is akin to the purist childhood joys; to wonder together, find new things, venture further, to play, share, grow and learn, in the liberating absence of social boundaries. We become simply humans, playing with and sharing ideas.

The sessions have been incredibly enriching, particularly in areas important to me.

I’ve found connection and have come to reject previously held notions that society had forgotten healthy communication, argument, discussion. This brings a sense of renewed optimism and hope for the greater world. ‘People are amazing’.

My own personal ethics have had an opportunity of being explored and challenged, allowing me to reflect on how I relate to others, and better understanding my own behaviour. It has been a safe space to consider and, to an extent, discover what really matters to me.

Keeps everyone engaged

You’re very good at keeping participants engaged as well as making discussions inclusive, fun and hands-on. Your explanation of certain topics makes it easier to understand difficult topics, and you make strong personal connections with your group, which makes the whole environment amazing and comfortable to be in. You also prompt participants to answer honestly in a space we know is safe and not judgemental.

Makes us feel like we're in it together as equals

Andy is a facilitator who is always open to everybody’s beliefs and opinions, always managing to keep a class discussion thriving. Philosophy club is dull without him there, in philosophy club he makes us feel as though we are all on equal ground, not facilitator vs student, just people talking to one another in a friendly manner. His strengths as a facilitator of philosophical discussions would be communication, patience and being open-minded.

Thought-provoking and focused

Andy is an amazing facilitator of philosophy discussion. This is due to him previously running our school's philosophy club, with his incredibly intellectual contributions he manages to provoke deep thought in everyone else's minds while remaining on topic. This combined with his immense charisma make him a perfect facilitator.

Enaging and focused

1. I think that you can keep track of the conversation well 2. Your able to keep everyone engaged in the conversation 3. You also make the conversation interesting where we want to participate 4. You're able to keep everyone on track with the idea and where we don't stray too far from the main idea.

Joyful energy

A major strength of yours is that you are able to initiate a deep and insightful conversation regardless of the topic, and you're able to keep students and faculty engaged at all times. You also have an amazing energy that makes it so much more enjoyable, plus your extensive knowledge allows us to learn so much more from our conversations!
